Ludovico Solima is Associate Professor of Cultural Heritage Management at the Second University of Naples (Italy); besides academic activity, he often teaches in several national and international courses and takes part in many conferences and workshops.
He began his route in museum management studies in 1996 from a business administration background, after a degree in Economics at the University of Naples Federico II and a PhD in Economics at the University of Venice.
His interests have involved him in theoretical studies – through the publication of several books and articles – and field research on behalf of Public Institutions such as Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, especially in marketing and visitors behaviour issues; recently, he has been studying the application of new technologies and accountability issues in museum sector.
He is the scientific coordinator of Megaride s.r.l., a private company which carries out researches, strategic and managerial consultancy for public and private institutions in the cultural field.
He is founder and member of the Advisory Board of Fondazione Fitzcarraldo of Turin; he is the president of the Evaluation Board of Naples Fine Arts Academy.
He is the author of the books La gestione imprenditoriale dei musei (Padua 1998), Il pubblico dei musei (Rome 2000), L’impresa culturale (Rome 2004), Culture e territori (Rome 2007), with A. Bollo I musei e le imprese (Electa Napoli, Naples 2002), with N. Barrella “Musei da svelare” (Napoli 2011), “Il museo in ascolto” (Soveria Mannelli 2012) and he has edited “Rapporto sull’economia dei beni culturali in Campania” (Mondadori Electa, Milan 2006).
